EC Adopts 2007-2009 Nanotechnology Implementation Report
On 29 October 2009, the European Commission adopted the Communication "Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies: an action plan for Europe 2005-2009.Second Implementation Report 2007-2009".
This outlines the key developments during 2007-2009 in each policy area of the Action Plan, identifies current challenges, and draws conclusions relevant to the future European nanotechnology policy. For more information, please consult

ETPN Expert Report 2009 published - Roadmaps in Nanomedicine
Together with the European Commission, the ETP Nanomedicine initiated a roadmapping process in early 2009 with two objectives: firstly, to identify translatable trends in research and understand their expected impact on applications, products, and markets and secondly, to fine-tune and target research funding on areas with greater commercial potential and most importantly, that will help patients.
HSE published information sheet on risk management of carbon nanotubes
On March 6, 2009, in response to a recent research from the University of Edinburgh, which found multi-walled CNTs may produce asbestos-like response, the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) published an information sheet on the risk management of carbon nanotubes (CNT).
